Going Green Program.

Going Green Flyer (PDF)

An extensive Going Green program is in place at the Complex. This program includes a comprehensive recycling program that involves paper, cardboard, bottles, cans, animal bedding, manure, skids, wood, metal, paint, cooking and automotive oils, tires, etc.

The Susquehanna River Basin Commission installed a demonstration Storm Water Garden at the Complex in the fall of 2009. This garden captures and/or slows storm water runoff into Paxton Creek, following heavy rainstorms.

In addition, the Susquehanna River Basin Commission installed a 20,000-gallon water storage tank at the Complex that will capture rainwater from the roof of the Equine Arena. This water will be used for arena floor wetting and floor washing. This project will also reduce run-off into Paxton Creek and will reduce the Complex’s water bill.
